How to Play the Game
Every game needs some rules to provide the framework to make it work. The Mayfest Larp Rules System is our Framework. These are the central rules of the game. From time to time variations on these may be introduced, some to support a feature of a plot line (like insanity) and others to correct errors discovered over time.
The festivals are held on a working farm. So that we do not upset the farmer, his family and his livestock there are a few, generally common sense, regulations we have to abide by. Campsite Regulations explains these.
As our game includes combat and we are camping, often using open fires and so on, we have a set of Safety Rules. We have to abide by these for insurance purposes as well as avoiding injury to ourselves. Much of these are common sense but included are safety calls and ways of using weapons that are distinct to LARP.
Finally with rules and regulations there are especial conventions that we use to control the game and do the impossible, like cast spells. These are explained here on the Conventions page.
