Runes
All runes require <rank> quality herbs to create where <rank>
is equal to the rank of the rune being produced.
HERB LORE (1-5)
You can recognise herbs of <rank> quality and can extract from
them the ingredients from which runes are created. You must inform a
ref if you wish to seek out herbs.
The following runes have (1-X) ranks
these Runes last until sunrise or until being used, whichever happens
first.
RUNE OF PROTECTION (1-3)
When applied to armour, ignore the next <rank> damage to that
location. Assume the rune is one rank less for each damage taken.
RUNE OF CRITICAL DAMAGE (1-4)
When applied to a weapon, you may do double damage <rank> times.
Assume the rune is one rank less for each time double damage is caused.
RUNE OF LETHAL DAMAGE (1-4)
When applied to weapons, you may do lethal damage <rank> times.
Assume the rune is one rank less for each time lethal damage is caused.
RUNE OF POWER (1-4)
When applied to items, they may hold 2 manna per rank. This manna can
be used by anyone with a manna pool.
The following RUNES are rank 5 and
require rare and unique ingredients. These materials may become available
to you during the course of an event. consult a ref if you aquire ingredients
from which you wish to create a rune.

RUNE OF CRUSHING BLOW (5)
When applied to a weapon, you may do crushing damage one time. Assume
the rune is destroyed when this ability is used. May only be applied
to weapons of master craft quality
RUNE OF PERMANANCE (5)
Used in the creation of permanent magical equipment. This rune must
be applied with one (or more) runes of temporary effect. Once completed,
a ritual must be performed to combine the magic and activate the rune.
The results are dependent on the success of the ritual. May only be
applied to master craft equipment.
For role play runes must
be visible and be able to be easily removed when used.
