At Wade Bridge there was once a ford. Then the Romans came and built a bridge. The bridge they build was a stone arch with a road going up and over it. The ground though was softer than they thought and the bridge sank down until the river ran around it at either end. So now there is a short ford to the bridge and a short ford from it. On the north bank is the Stilt Inn, a tavern built upon a platform to keep it safe from the frequent floods. On the south bank in a large hut a little apart from the others lives Glod and his wife Lara. They are giants and have two children.
