First let us blow away some conventions of time you
may be expecting. There are no dates for years. Years are measured from
events and this becomes more vague with the passing of time. There are
two organisations that measure the years, the Bards' Guild and the Mages'
Guild. Each have their own system of measurement. In Cornovii you could
read, "In this the second year of the reign of King Flint,"
which is a good a way of measuring them as any.
Although the end of a year is celebrated this is just an excuse to
have a party. There is no 'official year end or new year. Months are
called Moons, there are 12 of these, each of 28 days and every 21 years
there is a 13th moon which gets things back on track. Days dfo not start
and end at midnight but at dusk, The night is far more important than
the day for the skein between the realms of the living and of the dead
is much thinner then.
The cycle described above is followed by the Celts, Werewolves and
Fey and, although they may have different traditions and dates for events,
this gives us a common calendar to use.
Please do note that a lot of the days depend upon events, like
the first apple to fall or the first lamb to be born - we role play
this being the case but for convenience of managing the game we use
set dates.
