The whole of this site is undergoing a kind of slimming exercise ready for a major revamp. Most of this early work is complete with just the centralisation of forms, transfers of data to the forums and the history and geography sections to be finalised. All of the links should work - please let us know if any fail.

Introduction to Mayfest and Augfest

Mayfest is a non profit live role play event held annually on the second bank holiday in May at Southcott Farm in Winkleigh, Devon. On the practical side this site contains the regulations for the event as well as local information, advice and how to get to the event. You can also find the rules for the events here.

Mayfest is run by Mayfest LARP who ensure that those on low incomes or without much spare cash, like students, single parents and families, get a chance to attend a larp event that would normally cost around twice as much.

Augfest is simply a follow on from Mayfest, run by the same people at the same site.

These festivals are different from others for more than one reason - plots are reactive to what players do rather than forcing players down a set course of actions, everyone plays, everyone helps and the festivals are never allowed to get so large that some people remain strangers.

Up the top of this page, on the right is a link below, "Forums". The forums are a bulletin board set up for Mayfest players and would be players. Users have to register for it and the registration must be approved. This helps us to filter out advertisers (and worse) and keep the boards safe for family use. It is well worth looking at the Forums if you are thinking of giving Mayfest a go!
